Convert the geometry of any object into a 3D printed-looking version of itself. It works by creating slices of geometry just like an FDM printer would, using simulation nodes. There are controls for layer height, and a PLA shader is included.
Ideal for people or companies selling 3D prints online who are looking to create renders of their products instead of photos.
By buying now, you will receive any future updates for free.
Main Features
- Convert an object into a version of it that looks like it was 3D printed
- Control the layer height as well as the precision (polygon density)
- Easy to use
- Animate the object being printed layer by layer
- The most efficient way of creating renders for your 3D printed products
How to use
- Triangulate your mesh with the Triangulate Modifier
- Add the Geometry Nodes Group to the object (append it or simply use the provided file)
- Bake simulation nodes in the physics tab, or alternatively simply press play on the Timeline. Make sure there is enough frame on the timeline to fully bake the object.
Make sure your mesh is triangulated and manifold (watertight). The node group is made to work with real world size, so make sure your object is at a 3D printable scale. Apply all other modifiers (including Triangulate) before adding the node group for faster baking, so Blender doesn't recompute them each frame.
Controls
Layer Height: control the height of each layer. Default is 0.28mm
Precision: control how accurately the curves will follow the base object. This result in more or fewer polygons in the end. The bigger this values is, the better the performances, but the less "true to the original mesh" it will be. A value of 0.1mm gives good result but could be too slow for big objects. Default is 0.1mm.
Shader
A PLA shader comes with the blend file, you can easily change it's base color in the shader editor.

What you need to know
- Compatible with Blender 3.6 and above.

If you have any issues, I will be really happy to help you via Discord.
Limitations
- SizeĀ | Designed to work with real world 3D print size and layer heights. Objects above 50x50x50cm and layer height lower than .12mm might be too slow to process or make Blender crash depending on your hardware.
- Density | 3D objects with too many polygons will cause lag. When necessary use the decimate modifier to reduce polycount before using 3DPrintify.
- Mesh Printability| Make sure the mesh is manifold, watertight, with face normals facing outward. Try voxel remeshing if you encounter weird problems.
